Dr. Walker has been with HFM since 1990.
Dr. Walker is a native of Birmingham, AL and attended high school in Pelham, AL. Dr. Walker attended Birmingham-Southern College where he received a degree in Biology. He then received his medical degree at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. His specialty training in Family Medicine was at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Walker is Board Certified in Family Medicine.
Dr. Walker has enjoyed practicing medicine in Hartselle for the past 30 years and is married with 4 children and 3 grandchildren. Outside of work, Dr. Walker enjoys woodworking, golf, and spending time with his family. Dr. Walker is also active at Hartselle Church of Christ.
Dr. Pohl has been with HFM since 1995.
Dr. Pohl is a native of York, NE and graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in Biopsychology. Dr. Pohl then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center for medical school. He then moved to Jackson, TN in 1992 to do an internship and residency in Family Medicine through the University of Tennessee. He finished the program in 1995 and moved to Hartselle to join Dr. Walker at Hartselle Family Medicine.
Dr. Pohl is Board Certified in Family Medicine as well as Board Certified in Hospice Care.
Dr. Pohl grew up on a farm in rural Nebraska. He has enjoyed living in Hartselle for the past 25 years and is married with 2 sons. Dr. Pohl enjoys spending time at Smith Lake with his family, along with his dog Chloe.
Anna has been with HFM since 2018.
Anna earned her Bachelors Degree in Nursing from The University of Alabama in 2008. She attended online classes for the Family Nurse Practitioner's Program through the University of South Alabama while working as an RN. Anna received her Masters Degree in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in December 2012.
Anna previously worked as an RN in the ER at Decatur Morgan Hospital followed by the medical ICU at Princeton Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL for 4 years. Anna also practiced in Decatur, AL for 6 years before starting at Hartselle Family Medicine in 2018. Anna loves being able to practice in her hometown and spend time with her 3 children.
Haley has been with HFM since 2019.
Haley graduated from Austin High School in Decatur, AL and went on to receive her Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner Masters Degree from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Haley was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society while at UAH.
Haley previously worked at Huntsville Hospital as a Registered Nurse in both the ER and Cardiac ICU for nearly 10 years. She also taught clinicals and lectured in the UAH Nursing Department while working at Huntsville Hospital. Haley is married with 1 daughter.
Katherine has been with HFM since 2022.
Katherine graduated from Lawrence County High School in Moulton, AL and went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and later Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in the Family Nurse Practitioner Program from The University of North Alabama. While studying in the graduate program at UNA, Katherine was inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.
Katherine is board certified by The American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
Before joining HFM, Katherine had 8 years of nursing experience which started at Decatur Morgan Hospital in the Emergency Room and then Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab. Since earning her MSN-FNP, she has worked part time in Hospice as a Nurse Practitioner. Katherine is married with 3 children. In her spare time, Katherine enjoys spending time with her family and doing anything outdoors.
